Welcome back to school and to your AHS Library!  This year we will have monthly bookmarks available to share library news, new books we have added, and much much more!

*If you are interested in being on a Battle of the Books team, please sign up with Mrs. Hart in the library by Sept. 15.

*Come into the library and see the new award books for the year!  Choose one you might be interested in for Raiders Read Days. We have both the Iowa Teen Awards and the Iowa High School Book Awards.

*Hundreds of new books have been added to the AHS library.  Check out the new shelves!

*Just a reminder, any time you come to the library during school hours, make sure you have a pass and sign in on the correct clipboard.  Thanks!

*Have some books you think we should carry in the library, come fill out a recommendation form!

State Reading Presentation

So, I had the wonderful experience to attend the State Iowa Reading Association Conference in Ames, where I was also asked to be a presenter.  I cannot even begin to tell you how much I learned.  We had nationally known speakers flown in from California, New York, Minnesota, etc.  I took notes like a crazy person and it was so wonderful to be surrounded by thousands of people who feel the same way about reading that I do!







We got to hear from an actual National Geographic explorer and the crazy new things she is working on to help steer girls into the sciences by breaking stereotypes.  So cool!!!
